Right Time to Mix Baby Guppies with Adult Ones
Guppies are the freshwater, colorful fish. This tinny fish discovered in 1866. Guppies are originated in Brazil, Guyana, Netherlands Antilles, and U.S virgin and in Venezuela.
Like Goldfish and Rainbow fish, Guppies require discriminatory bred and atmosphere to maintain their coloration and embroider their fins. In some places there are special societies that are devoted to breed Guppies. Some show-class Guppies can be bought at reasonable prices from market. Fancy Guppies that have quite stunning look can be originated at fish stores. They are not much expensive.
Female Guppy Heeding Tips
- When you keep new fish at home in your tank, first examine female Guppies carefully. You can isolate it from other fishes, if a female Guppy is near to generous birth.
A pregnant Guppy will be larger in body size and dark spot at her body called gravid spot. Gravid spot will get darker as she will near to give birth.- When you get sign at your female Guppy, it is the time to move it into another small breeding aquarium. This aquarium should be larger and wider than before and it should be prepared in all ways for new baby Guppy fish.
- In new aquarium there should be a breeder bowl, a container made of plastic or net should be hanged inside the aquarium. It should be near the bottom, so that new Guppy fish can fly over it and mother fish can use it at bottom.
- There should be a net in the hub of aquarium for partition purpose. This is essential because some females eat their young one.
- If you do not want to use a breeder box then your breeding portion should be covered with heavy plants. These plants will offer security to your new born fries when they want to hide.
When you see that female Guppy has completed birth, you can keep it back in large and old aquarium separately from baby Guppies.- Baby fish necessitates food several times in a day. A small Tropical fish can be favorite food for this fry. You can also use adult flake pieces as their food.
- Remember not to feed baby Guppies excessively, it may spoil the water condition. It can also damage their physical condition and cause your aquarium to be cloudy. To keep tank water clean is also very necessary. Filter your small aquarium water approximately after two weeks.
- When babies grow bigger, take some water from large aquarium and add in babies’ aquarium water. Continue this formula.
- After about six weeks you can convert them in large tank and mix up them with adult Guppies.
