Rainbow Fish Care

Rainbow fish are popular aquarium for its beauty and peacefulness. Rainbow fish is slim and smart figure fish with attractive fins. It has four fins. Two fins are dorsal. One dorsal fin is small and in black color and the other dorsal is large and in dual shade while rest of fins are yellow with black marks. Pectoral fins tips can have white and black tips on it. Aged males fish have fiber style extension on their fins. Fin shapes can be different in male and female. Their body gives different color tone in different lighting. There is a neon brand of color along with the back bone of the fish that reflects green and blue shades. Toward the back of the fish, scales become increasingly lucent; at that point individual fish bones are visible. It is a freshwater fish and originates in Australia and Southeast Asia.   1. 1. Tank Atmosphere

These fish like to swim freely in wide place so purchase a grand size tank with plenty of rooms to swim and to hide in rooms. Also provide your fish with filter and air pump facility. Their tank or box should be decorated and furnished with rocks and other ocean necessary articles. Most importantly, it should be kept clean with transparent and pure water.

If you do not have already a thermometer for your tank then purchase a new one to check the water temperature time to time. This aquarium should keep between 72 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit temperature. It should be checked and maintained daily. Also make sure that PH level is constant all the time. It should remain between 6.5 and 7.5.

Keep in mind that Rainbow fish are omnivorous fish. They need balanced diet that may include live and processed food for their good health. Rainbow fish like to eat live food like tubifex, blood worms or daphnia at least once in weak. They have small throats to eat so feed them with small pieces of nutrition. They also require algae-based food, vegetable and protein.

Be sure to clean your fish tank after every two weeks. There is need to remove approximately 25% of the current tank water volume.

Rainbow fish can never live with fin nippers because different fins can interact to each other individually. Male fish fins may be divided and change by nature and length. Round edges of the splits are a good clue. Complex fins means they are extra liable to certain disease like fine rot. Disease may catch you without any warning. So it is better to have appropriate hand medication.
